The majority of the Singleplayer game mode remains the same. Warband has received a major graphic enhancement over its predecessor and new animations have been added to the combat system. It also features the ability to become King, make Lords your vassals and even get married. It expands the single player of the first game, with a new map and a new faction called the Sarranid Sultanate, which represents the medieval Persian and North African Islamic Kingdoms such as the Moors and Egyptians.
The game now features multiplayer capabilities. Warband is the first stand-alone expansion for Mount&Blade and was first announced in January 2009.
